It’s officially the holiday season, which means Starbucks holiday beverages are out! For the Starbucks lovers out there, this is an exciting time because of the delicious drinks, and of course, their special holiday cups which have a different design each year. Since their holiday drinks are highly anticipated, I will be ranking the 5 Starbucks holiday drinks from least to best.

5. Eggnog Latte

My least favorite from the holiday collection is the Eggnog Latte. The Eggnog latte is steamed eggnog with Starbucks’ signature espresso and topped with nutmeg. Growing up, I never experienced the excitement of drinking eggnog. Maybe those who did will feel differently about the Eggnog latte. The Eggnog latte has a bit of a herbal and sour taste, unlike the other holiday drinks, which tend to be sweet. I believe making your own traditional eggnog at home is the better route.

4. Caramel Brulee Latte

For someone who is a fan of caramel, the Caramel Brulee Latte is not a favorite of mine. The Caramel Brulee is espresso and steamed milk with caramel brulee sauce. This beverage is perfect for those who want to taste a bit of bitterness with a hint of sweetness. There are chunks of caramel sauce at the bottom of the cup, which makes drinking this beverage slightly uncomfortable. The Caramel Brulee Latte is sweet, but if you want it less sweet, add some more espresso. I would recommend you get the other drinks on the holiday collection, but this is worth a try at least once.

3. Chestnut Praline Latte

The next one on the list is the Chestnut Praline Latte. The Chestnut Praline provides a sweet flavor and the chestnut flavoring does not overpower the espresso. You can taste a hint of chestnut after each sip. There is a dash of a dark caramel flavor in the drink, which adds to its deliciousness. This beverage leaves a clean aftertaste and not an uneasy nut taste. It is also light on sweetness. Not only does this drink taste delicious, but it has the lowest amount of calories, 330, compared to the other drinks in the holiday collection. The Chestnut Praline Latte is a must-try this holiday season.

2. Peppermint Mocha

Running up in second place is the Peppermint Mocha. This is a classic on the Starbucks holiday menu. I recommend getting the iced version of the Peppermint Mocha because the cold enhances the peppermint flavor. What makes the iced version even better is that it is visually pleasing. It is topped with whipped cream covered in chocolate drizzle and pieces of peppermint. If you are discouraged to try this drink because of the peppermint, there is nothing to be afraid of. The peppermint flavor is not overpowering, which makes this drink perfect. The Peppermint Mocha is the sweetest drink out of this collection, so if you are not fond of sugary beverages, I would not recommend this. This would make a great photo opportunity in front of the tree too. This one is definitely a must-try and ideal for peppermint lovers.

1. Toasted White Chocolate Mocha

First place goes to the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha. Words cannot describe my love for this drink. The Toasted White Chocolate Mocha is hot chocolate, replaced with white chocolate chips, and added espresso. This beverage is on the sweeter side, but it’s not too sickening. The taste of espresso is sharp, but the white chocolate masks most of it, giving a smooth balance of flavors. To caramel lovers, adding caramel drizzle to the iced  Toasted White Chocolate will take this drink to another level. On the sweetness level, this would fall under the Peppermint Mocha. If you want a new drink to try from Starbucks during the holiday season, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha is a must.

If any of the drinks from the collection seem worth trying to you, there is a Starbucks near campus on Magnolia and Lankershim. They are open from 4:30 am to 11:30 pm. Make sure to grab a drink before their holiday collection is over. Some drinks may not be guaranteed to come back in 2021.
