The 2026 Boys Tennis team has celebrated their seniors and put up a great fight during playoffs. Making it to the finals against LACES, they were met with a tough match and were awarded as runner ups. They were seeded 5th in the bracket and went down as undefeated league champions to end their season. Their senior night is what they needed to start up their motivation to push through playoffs.
Manager, Careroline Kirdsiri had been managing this team for the last three years so this senior night was a sentimental night for her. Kirdsiri reflects, “I had loads of fun during my senior night and it made me kinda sad too because it’s officially my last semester as manager for both girls and boys tennis, but I wasn’t too sad because there was food.” Kirdsiri went through the ups and downs with this team and supported them alongside the parents through it all. Kirdsiri’s advice for the underclassmen, “learn how to be organized while handling any activities and achieving amazing grades”
Singles 1, Captain Davis Kim’s time on the team has been a memorable experience and he ended strong in the playoffs. Kim’s senior night was filled with gratitude, Kim reflects, “I’m super thankful for everyone- coaches, parents, teammates, and everyone else behind the scenes for making it possible, and it motivates me even more to finally bring home the championship this year.” Kim and the team fought their hardest against their tough opponents. After seeing all his team’s efforts Kim reflects, “As captain, I wanted everyone to keep their heads up because we earned our spot there, and there’s still a lot to be proud of.”
Doubles 1, Horus Kup’s senior night was full of energy. Kup says, “I felt that I had to win on that night and we did in a very strong win. The celebration was the perfect way to cap it off and also keep pushing momentum to our further games.” Keeping up the energy and making it to the finals, the doubles teams had to hold their own. From teams stacking (having singles players playing doubles) to fighting the mental game, Kup still kept it positive. Kup reflects, “We kept our spirits up by realizing how far we pushed and went and staying confident in our next games to come”
Doubles 2, Dael Song growth throughout the season was remarkable and it showed during playoffs. Senior night brought the team’s spirits high. Song says, “Senior night was very fun because we took the win, our doubles teams stayed undefeated, and the team spirit was absolutely electric.” The playoffs was a long fight and even though the results were not what the team anticipated, it’s still an accomplishment nonetheless. Song says, “The loss was tough at first, but we reminded each other how far we came. We tried to stay positive, support one another, and focus on the accomplishments we had throughout the season.”
The Huskies were runners up to LACES in the finals with a score of 8-21.5. Even with this unfortunate turnout, this was an incredible playoff run from the boys. The path has been paved for next year’s team. Congratulations to the Huskies for their run, especially the seniors because without them the team would not have role models to follow in.
